Welcome to Metropolitan Denver, Colorado

We are here to help aquaint you with Colorado and our Metropolitan Denver area communities whether you are here for a visit or moving to one of our fine communities. We want to help facilitate a smooth transition around the metro area for anyone in the process of a move, provide important community information about the metro area and to inform visitors of the most delightful aspects of Colorado and the Metropolitan Denver area and the Front Range.

A common misconception is that Denver is located in the Rocky Mountains, but it is actually situated in the plains just east of the mountain range.

Another misconception is that Denver receives large amounts of snow during the fall and winter months. The combined annual average rain and snowfall is only 15.4 inches, making Denver's climate mild, dry and arid. Denver's 300 days plus of sunshine per year exceeds the amount claimed by either Miami or San Diego.

Denver has long had a reputation as the Mile High City. The 15th step of the Colorado State Capitol bears a special mark to identify it as exactly 5,280 feet above sea level. Because of the elevation, may be cautious to insure that the effects of high altitude do not spoil their stay in Denver. Some people initially experience a shortness of breath, nausea or headache, but the body usually adjusts after a day or two. Colorado's elevation increases the risk of sunburn and requires additional protection  from the UV rays. Sunscreen, sunglasses and a brimmed hat are a MUST while enjoying the outdoors in Colorado.

You will find the metro Denver area is rich in cultural attractions with some of the best shopping and dining to be found anywhere. The south metro Denver area is a wonderful place to live and work.
