South Metro Transportation
Public Transportation - Airports - Road Conditions

One of the best benefits of driving around Denver is that you can view the gorgeous, snow-capped Rocky Mountains from almost any location. Once you target this magnificent range, you have found due west.Well-maintained interstates and major thoroughfares are typical throughout most of Colorado. Roads are repaired and repaved throughout the year and in the event of a snowstorm, road crews work around-the-clock to keep roads clear and safe and de-iced.
Interstate highways and major arterials are  first to be plowed or de-iced, followed by the secondary streets. Residential streets are rarely plowed, but some municipalities clear their residential streets.

Interstate 25

From the south, Castle Rock is the gateway to south metro Denver. Continuing north, you will drive by the Inverness Business Park and through The Denver Tech Center. Northbound I-25 takes you just west of downtown Denver. and                     north to Fort Collins. A massive highway improvement project called T-REX. (Transportation Expansion Project)
has been                 recently completed plus added light rail transit from Lincoln Avenue to downtown Denver, all to
jhelp alleviate the heaviest                  traffic on I-25, often referred to as the Valley Highway.

Interstate 225
Joining I-25 to the south and I-70 to the north, this stretch of highway runs through the southeastern portion of the metro area. I-225 also has been reworked from Interstate 25 to Parker Road with added light rail transit.

Interstate 70
Just north of downtown Denver, I-70 goes west into the Rocky Mountains and many of the state's major ski areas. I-70 East takes you east to Denver International Airport and Colorado's Eastern plains, continuing on into Kansas.

     C-470
This major highway runs from I-70 in the West to I-25 in the Southeast. Many mountain and west metro-area residents                     use C-470 to approach the south metro Denver area. C-40 turns into the E-470 Express Tollway at the I-25 intersection.

E-470
The metro area's only toll road, E-470, connects with C-470 at I-25 to the south, and turns north to intercept I-25 in the   north metro area just north of the 144th Avenue & I-25 exit. E-470 also connect to the Northwest Parkway.

   Santa Fe Drive (US85)
This stretch of state Highway 85 runs from I-25 just south of downtown and extends past C-470 into Douglas County, I-25               through the metro and south metro areas, Highway 85 meets I-25 again just north of Castle Rock at the Founders Parkway               exit.

   Sixth Avenue  Freeway
Many commuters in Denver's western suburbs, including Golden and Lakewood, take the 6th Avenue freeway into Denver.    Westbound 6th Avenue intersects I-70 in Golden.

          Parker Road (State 83)
This stretch of state Highway 83 runs Southeast through the cities of Denver, Aurora, Centennial, Foxfield, and Parker. A trip           South on 83 will take you all the way to Colorado Springs.
