Images:
- Color Adobe Photoshop photos must be saved in CMYK mode, 300 dpi
resolution, 100% in ad, and saved as a TIFF or EPS (DCS off).
- Black and white Adobe Photoshop photos must be saved in grayscale
mode, 300 resolution, and saved as a TIFF or EPS (DCS off).
- Adobe Photoshop bitmap images must be saved at CMYK 600 DPI resolution.
- Adobe Illustrator images must be CMYK with no spot colors, and have
all fonts converted to outlines. Please include all linked images.
A PDF or EPS postscript file may be submitted in place of a
QuarkXPress document or Adobe Indesign V2.0 document.
All images must be converted to CMYK and Fonts Outlined. We will
not be responsible for font management.

File Transfer Methods:
We can accept ads submitted on:
- CDs
- 100-MB Zip disks
-FTP uplaod- For security purposes, anonymous FTP directories
are temporary and created/deleted as needed. Call 303-703-3600 for
options and instructions.
All ads submitted must include:
- QuarkXPress files must include
- all supporting images
- outlined fonts
- a color laser printout or a color PDF of the ad for proofing purposes
*EPS files or EPS images embedded in a QuarkXPress document must have
all fonts converted to outlines, colors set to CMYK.
We DO NOT recommend sending a PDF or postscript file in place of a QuarkXPress document or EPS file.
Publication Trim Size:
The LifeStyles guide trims to 7.75” x 10.75”. Bleed is 1/8”. Bleed is only
for full page and full spread ads only. Ads smaller than a full page
are not allowed to bleed. Ads smaller than a full page with bleed built
into the files will be trimmed without warning to be no closer than
1/2” to the trim. Perfect alignment of type or design elements across
gutter of two facing pages cannot be guaranteed. Allow 1/4” visual gap
for gutter on spreads. Publisher reserves the right to charge $75 per
hour for all costs incurred in preparing the material submitted that
does not meet specifications.
Printing and Binding Method:
Offset web, saddle-stitched.
Paper:
Cover is printed on 801b. gloss coated cover stock. Inside pages are printed on 701b. gloss coated stock.
File Requirements:
To accommodate our production process, we require digital files. Film
or mechanicals will not be accepted. We are available to create your
are, scan your photos and design your ad at our standard rates.
If you would like us to produce your ad, you must provide the following
materials: typewritten text, photographs, a
clean, black and white logo or digital file of the logo saved as an eps
or tiff, and a brief indication of your concept or idea for the ad. Art
production is $75 per hour. Estimated time of more than one hour will
be approved by you before we proceed.
