This 1800's gold-mining district was known as the Richest Square
Mile on Earth. The entire area is now a National Historic District. Legalized

This highest paved road in North America takes you to within a
few feet of the summit of Mt. Evans (14,264 feet).From Idaho Springs, CO Hwy. 5 (accessed via CO
